Description

Rare Antique Salem 8 Day Ships Clock! Said to be from Shipwreck in Lake Superior! This is a wonderful rare antique ships clock. On the face it is marked Salem Ships Bell 8 Day Jeweled Germany. It also has silent strike marked on it.  It works well and keeps time great. There is a sticker on the back that reads Salem Maritime the finest name in clock.  The inside working has the number W 400 on it. The owner said that the purchased it in the 1960's from someone who said it was in one of the shipwrecks in Lake Superior. I do not have any authentication that this is true. However, I do notice that the outside casing of the clock has cracks in it that look like it was about to burst; I've never seen anything like that happen to any antique clocks I've ever sold. Anyone that can give me some insight into this, the information would be very much appreciated.  There is a key that goes with it. It measures 6 1/4 in diameter on the top and 7 1/4" in diameter at the base.   I have a wide selection of antiquarian and collectible books and antiques listed that would make wonderful additions to any collection! Please be sure to check out my other listings in my Ebay Store, Audies Oldies, as I do combine purchases to save on shipping costs.  Free shipping does not include Alaska, Hawaii or APO addresses. To these states, I will give a discount on shipping costs.
