Antique Button Necklace I designed this necklace to be created without any damage to the buttons in order to preserve their antique value. No glue was used, and the shanks are intact. This necklace was created using two gorgeous faceted black glass ball Victorian waistcoat buttons. Although it was hard to capture in the photos, both buttons have a coppery irridescent glow to them. One button hangs from a center focal piece which is actually a vintage solid brass finding from the 1920's. Gorgeous patina on this diamond shaped, fancy scrolled edge piece! The 2nd button hangs from a vintage brass chain. The matching 20" delicate vintage brass chain that the pendant hangs from is also included. This heirloom piece is a collectible and should be handled and stored with care ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My jewelry is made with all vintage and antique buttons and findings. Most all of my buttons were obtained years ago through estate sales and antique stores. (Back before button collecting became popular and the truly vintage buttons became harder to find!) I don't use modern, cheap plastic, filler buttons and call them "vintage." All of the buttons that I use are generally from the 1800's through1940's. I do not use a hot glue gun and mass produce. I use only the finest jewelers' adhesives where necessary, and take my time designing just the right piece. On rare and antique buttons, I try to design my pieces without any damage to the buttons in order to preserve their value. In some of my creations I also use vintage jewelry parts, stampings and findings. Again, nothing modern is used. Several pieces have 14K gold or sterling silver chains. Some of my brass findings were obtained from a woman who purchased them years and years ago from a vintage costume jewelry manufacturer who had gone out of business. These gorgeous brass findings had been sitting in their warehouse for years before being bought. They are vintage, and yet they are unused. Most of the findings are from the 1920s - 1950s. Because I only use vintage or antique buttons, they may show wear and age. This is expected from something that is 60-150 years old. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind original, no two are alike. Shipping for my vintage and button jewelry is a flat $2.50 via USPS First Class Mail. We do combine shipping. For each additional jewelry piece purchased, add .50 cents per item. (This applies to small jewelry items only, large items are calculated by weight using the eBay shipping calculator and based upon your zip code.) Shipping insurance is optional on items under $50. Should you choose not to insure your package, please be aware that we are not responsible due to damage or loss caused by the United States Postal Service. Items over $50 will have mandatory insurance included in your shipping fee. We always purchase our postage labels online and therefore you will be given the tracking information for your package. Through this tracking information you will be able to see the exact date that your package was mailed out to you. Should there be a delay in receiving your package from the Postal Service, please don't rate us poorly on our shipping time, as once the package leaves our hands, it is then the fault of the Post Office, as we have no control over how long it takes them to get the package to you. We always ship your item out to you within 1-2 days of receiving your payment. We ship twice per week, usually Monday and Thursday.
