The basket is formed from bamboo or other wood-type rods with straw or grass braided rope that is weaved around the rods for a tight construction measuring 14" x 10 1/4" x 6 3/8". It is structurally-sound overall, but there is a small bit of damage to the lid along one short side where the weaving is coming undone (please notice in photos), a small hole in the lid and another small spot to one short side where the rope weaving is broken. The underside of the lid and inside base has a tufted pillow of very light blue satin fabric as well as the basket base being lined in the same color satin fabric and this fabric is very worn, faded and does have waterstaining. The underside lid pillow is also completely unattached from the lid. There is a primitive, decorative brass carry handle and a latch lock with a turn latch formed in a heart shape. The basket has been stored for many years and is dirty, but without excessive odors. It was purchased from and now comes from a non-smoking, pet-free environment.
