This is a Euromodel (arqueologically correct) kit from Cuomo, Italy. Instructions in English and Italian are enclosed along with blue prints in sealed transparent pouch from the manufacturer. This kit will result in a museum quality model. The finished assembled model can be found for sale in the Internet for Approx US $5,000. This is not a kit for beginners, or those used to "cheaper kits" for children. The Manufacturer price is provided in Euros 512.00 ($663.17 plus $48.00 shipping from Italy to USA). (Conversion into dollars as of Oct 29 is an advantage to dollar buyers due to lower Euro. A couple of months ago the conversion amounted to $720.00 plus shipping) This is not a toy This particular kit was purchased in 1980 and the quality is excellent. It is still in the original box; detailed instructions are still sealed. All parts are in the box and intact. It will make an excellent gift for the collector, or the dedicated ship model builder, as well as a beautiful addition to the decor of any room. Please note the flags as well as all other details are similar to the ones used by the original ship. This is an archeologically correct reproduction,not the smaller version with modern flags sold by low end manufacturers. The Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde was built in 1661-61 with 2 decks and typical Dutch construction features. She carried 50/60 cannons and a crew of 200-250.The overall lengh was 52 m. The frigate F. Wilhelm zu Pferde travelled from Pillau to Emden and from there to the Shetland Islands under Captain Jean Le Sage as escort to the Derfflinger. In 1692 it sailed with a fleet from Emden to go to Guinea along with the "Salamander" and was intercepted near Gibraltar by three French ships coming from the Caribean (France was at war w/ Brandenberg) Captain Le Sage was killed and the ship was then set on fire. Kit size when finished will have a maximum lengh of 930 mm (36.61 inches)a total width of 190 mm (7 1/2 inches)and an overall height of 820 mm (32 1/3 inches). Package measures 30 1/2 x 11 x 4 inches and weighs Approx 14 1/2 pounds. Shipped free within the US by USPS priority mail. Insurance Optional: $7.45.
