Up for auction is an original new tile sconce from oakwilde clay products. The scene is of the upper arroyo seco above Altadena. This is a matte glazed tile sconce measures app 12 by 5 inches by 3/4 in thick. The bobesche under the candle is made from a real acorn cap.These tile work well with original tile or new installations. The tile also come with a hanging bracket on the back for wall mounting. These are limited edition tile. Please note these are handmade not production tile . A master is hand carved in wet clay, from this a plaster mold is made. These molds yield 20-25 tile befor the process must be repeated. Clay is hand rolled and pressed into the mold after allowing to sit for about 20 minutes,the tile is removed and detailed. the tile is then biscuit fired to 1900 degrees. After cooling the glazed are applied with a brush and the tile is fired again. Each firing process takes about 14 hours
