It dates from the 1940s and consists of the following: · A stunning oversized large carved wall mirror that measures 53 inches wide & 41 inches deep. The size of the original looking glass itself is 46 inches wide by 32.5 inches high. The mirror frame itself is solid mahogany, and has carved corners, a beautiful crown molded pierce carved top and even clamshell carving on the base. · The beautiful carved full size panel bed measures 54 inches wide and 76 inches long. Therefore, it will allow for a normal full size modern day box spring and mattress. The outside dimensions are 56 inches wide on the headboard, 50 inches high to the crest on the headboard, 25 inches high to the posts on the footboard and 23 inches high to the center of the foot board. This bed is resplendent with its carved posts on the fancy footboard, open pierce carved center, incise carving across the base of the molding and across the top and panel headboard. · The gorgeous six-drawer carved chest on chest measures is 38 inches wide, 20.5 inches deep and 54.5 inches high. It has four serpentine dove tail drawers on top with even the inside constructed of mahogany, a step out base that has two flat front drawers, fancy brass style Victorian type hardware, beaded molding, twisted rope molding, applied carvings on the corners, molding along the base & even carved feet. The overall condition is great, though it has a little nick on top that is evident and one little rub mark that is still visible even though it was re-sprayed. · The four-drawer dresser measures 53 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 35.5 inches high and has the same scroll top detail as the chest-on-chest, a serpentine front, carved feet, the original French Victorian cast hardware, carved moldings on the corners, French style feet, serpentine moldings across the base and a rope braided molding across the bottom of the first and second drawer. · The entire set has dovetail construction on the drawers, beautiful corresponding carvings throughout, a scroll top on the dresser, and carvings all over and flame mahogany veneers used on the drawer fronts and panels of the bed. · This set has been completely & professionally re-sprayed in a dark reddish brown stain finish and stunningly brings out all the depth of the flame & mahogany veneers. · The set retains all the original hardware, and · Is all set to go into the home. This entire set is stunning and is of very high quality. To buy a new one of this caliber would cost far more than this set will cost you. There are hardly words or pictures that can fully describe the complete beauty of this set. If you are able to come by & look at it in person, please do so.
