This old mandolin is 24" tall. It has no name, no strings, and no bridge. There are some cool inlays around the sound hole, I do not know what they are made of. The neck has some cracks on the top layer of wood where the frets are. I do not know if this can be restored or not. The patent date (not the manufactured date, which is unknown) on the bottom is Oct,6,96, which would refer to 1896. There are a few blemishes on the wood on the back, but no major cracks around the back at all. There are a couple spots on the back that need filling and restoration. I was able to see a very fine line of daylight through one of the layers. It seems that the back has several smaller wood pieces with another type of wood in-between each layer.
