Rare Ancient Medieval Solid Gold Ring Beautiful Blue Center Stone Magnificent and Solid Design Circa: 1000 - 1650AD This is a Very Rare Ancient Medieval era Gold Ring with a stunning and magnificent design. This ring has a Beautiful Blue Center Stone (type and composition unknown). The Stone is a beautiful blue color with light swirl patterns within it. Stone does have 1 crack at top of stone as displayed in picture. This can most likely be repaired and glued back together by any reputable jeweler. None of the stone is missing. The remainder of the stone appears fully intact with no cracks or chips. Both the bezel and band exhibit a artwork of designs created through the skills and craftsmanship of the ringsmith. This is a magnificent ring and aside from the stated crack in stone, ring is in excellent condition with only expected wear from age. This is a one of a kind, stunningly beautiful, heavy, very high quality and extremely well constructed ring which is a obvious work of art. Ring is at least 350+ years old. Much of the ring has been professionally cleaned to restore, and display it's original brilliance, beauty and detail. If the new owner so desires further polishing, they may use moderate amounts of silver cream and a soft damp cloth, which will further enhance the ring's full gold luster and beauty! The Ring's band has been chemically tested, and results are 100% gold positive when tested at 10k. Ring's Gold karat is less than 10k (around 6 - 8k), and the ring is gold throughout, and not gold plated. In Medieval times they did not have the karat system when creating more solid and durable gold items which were generally a mixture of Gold, Silver and Bronze. This Ring appears to have been constructed from Gold and Silver only, and without Bronze. Without the bronze, the Ring will not have a strong dominant gold tone such as with high karat gold. This Ring has a very vivid gold tone, even without the bronze to enhance the gold appearance. The level of gold tone is more and less dominant depending on lighting conditions. In florescent lighting, the gold tone is very dominant, in incandescent lighting, the gold tone may be less dominant. The displayed pictures were taken under florescent lighting. The gold tone level dominates quite vividly, or of course you may have the Ring professionally chemically tested with 10k acid for "low karat value less than 10k".
